Born in Harlem, New York, Andy Garcia was raised in the Manhattanville Projects by Dominican immigrant parents. Their work focuses on personal histories, and how they have been effected by migration, colonization, urban policy, and histories more broadly by drawing parallels across time periods and disciplines. Currently, Andy is working on a project that re-imagines the African diaspora if colonization and slavery had not occurred. Andy holds a BA in Photography from Bard College
